How to change IP address of your computer


It is only for the windows 2000, windows 2003 and windows XP.

Go start menu then select run menu or windows key + r and you have to write “cmd” (without quotation).

- Type ipconfig /release and hit enter
- Then go Start menu, select Control Panel, and press Network Connections
- Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties
-Select Network
- Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)


 















- Click on Use the following IP address
- Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123




 















- Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
- Hit OK then ok
- Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
- Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
- Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
- Hit OK then ok
- Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address

For Vista or Windows 7

- Go Start menu
- Click All Programs expand the Accessories menu
- In the Accessories menu, Right Click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator
- Write ipconfig /release and hit enter
- Go Start menu, select Control Panel, and open Network and Sharing Center. Depending on your view, you may have to click Network and Internet before you see the Network and Sharing Center icon
- From the Tasks menu on the left, choose Manage Network Connections
- Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties (If you’re hit with a UAC prompt, choose Continue)
- Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Click on Use the following IP address
- Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123
- Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
- Hit OK twice
- Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
- Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
- Hit OK twice
- Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address
